*Dear Umuahians on this platform, those at the New Jersey Convention and Umuahians everywhere**: 🗣
Permit me to thank the organisers and hosts of this year’s U S convention. As usual it gives the board the opportunity to get everyone on the same page with where we are on the restoration journey.
I am very happy the outing was a huge success. Our target is that *10 years* after we reopen, Umuahia will be again the best secondary school in Nigeria. *5 years* after that it should be the best in Africa. **20* years *after we reopen it should compete with any secondary school anywhere in the world.
A lot of work has been done to actualize these targets. We will be focusing on 4 main arrears. We want to be number one in *academic* excellence, in *discipline*, in *leadership* training and in *sports*. The work we have done on the academic *curriculum* is awesome.
We are training a croup of new leadership for Africa. A healthy competitive spirit is ready to take on the world. In infrastructure we are building a school in a garden. The ambience of the new Government will be *breathtaking*. We are renovating the old structures to preserve their Umuahian legacy while acquiring all modern facilities you can think of.
This goes for the classrooms, the dometries and the laboratories. We are introducing new indoor and out door sports than we ever had in Umuahia. Our staff recruitment, continuous evaluation, in training and welfare package is next to none. Orientation of staff and students to our vision and mission is a continuous process. We work with *expert committees of Umuahians and consultants* to make sure that every aspect of the restoration is awesome.
Only the best yes only the best is good enough for Umuahia. Pls this is the time for all Umuahians to contribute all Umuahia has given to us in creating a legacy the modern world will see and respect us for who we are.
